“We’ll sing you a song and we’ll make a fuss,
Whoever you are you are one of us”
Thursday February 2nd family and friends and poetry lovers gathered in the Founders Room at The Cricket Club to enjoy a reading of the poetry from Gerard C. Ronan’s latest book SHORELINE. That was the billing and that is why so many people came together but the evening was poetry and so much more. Poetry in Motion are the words that come to our minds.
Gerard’s daughter Geraldine Ronan produced and directed a magical evening of poetry, music and heartwarming performances. The audience enjoyed the acting talents of Sandra Cimetta, John Fredricks, Gerry Ronan Jr, Gerard Ronan and Geraldine Ronan. Musical accompaniment was provided by internationally renowned fiddler Anne Lindsay and Canadian composer, legendary musician Asher Ettinger and the beautiful voice of Geraldine Ronan.
A big thank you to Sophie Ronan and her many volunteers who worked so hard behind the scene to ensure the evening was flawless. Thank you to The Cricket Club, the Tennis Committee, General Manager Lori Tymchyk and Assistant General Manager Terry Nolan for providing the perfect venue. Thank you to the performers, to Geraldine Ronan and most especially thank you to the man of the evening Gerard Ronan author of the poetry book SHORELINE. All proceeds from the book sales are being donated to the Philpott Children Tennis Fund.
On behalf of the Philpott Board of Directors and the Philpott children a huge thank you!
