Tuesday July 12 was an exciting day for the Philpott campers at the McGregor Park site. That day Debbie Lightle-Quan from the CBC came to the site and did a filming of our program to be featured on CBC Weekend. Debbie did an initial filming six years ago. Since she is retiring this fall, she decided to do an update on a program she thought so highly about six years ago. She was very pleased to know that we were still providing free tennis lessons to children living in priority needs neighbourhoods. She was impressed with our growth since she last featured our charity. In six years we have almost doubled sites and the number of children we welcome into our program. Debbie’s report highlights a special component of the Philpott tennis lessons, the value of the day which on Tuesday was “respect”. Debbie’s feature of the Philpott program was brilliant! We can’t thank her enough for including the Philpott program as part of her CBC swan song.
