In Alan’s own words:

“Tuesday night at the Rogers Cup I was both honoured and humbled to receive the Distinguished Service Award for my many years volunteer teaching wheelchair tennis in Canada. It all began in 1985 when I attended the first conference ever held in Canada for wheelchair tennis. I went on to start the program at Variety Village then becoming Provincial and then National Coach. Currently I am the Director of Tennis for the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association.”
